Orlando Florida fishing guides, fishing guides near Orlando, Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach and the Mosquito Lagoon fishing guides are al targeting the flats or inshore fishing right now. The main reason is due to the overwhelmingly great Redfish and Black Drum bite. The Mosquito Lagoon is simple on fire and has been for months now. On some days it’s all most like cheating.
Redfish – They have been on fire in both the deep water and shallow flats. Makes no difference if your using artificial or live bait. Basically start up wind and work your way down the flat and you will have shot after shot. The water is crystal clear so seeing them will be a simple task… you just have to cast out in front of them. Once the fish see your bait, BAMB it’s on!!!
Black Drum – Some flats are holding large numbers of Black drum but the deeper waters seem to hold more plus they just can’t resist a live shrimp waiting on the end of your line. The average Black Drum has been between 10 to 15 pounds but we have had a couple up to the boat pushing 20 pounds.
Sea Trout – Finally seeing good numbers of big trout up on the shallowest of flats. Seems like they are sitting there sunning in the clean clear water. Over the past week we have had no trouble getting them to eat.
Snook – Small Snook are holding in the fast currents along the drop offs of deeper water. The best bait lately has been a green, white and tan swim bait. I’m sure they would love to take a live mullet or pin fish… I just haven’t tried.
It’s been an awesome March so far and Spring Break is in Full Swing!!!
It is super important to call as soon as possible to book what few days are left on the calendar. If I can’t get you out, I’ll be MORE then happy to turn you onto one of my close personal charter captain buddy’s. As always “Thanks for checking out my web site”! I look forward to fishing with you in the future!
